The league age of a player is determined as of August 1, 2023.  A player’s grade in school is not used to determine the playing age of a player.  EXAMPLE: If a player will be 11 on August 1, 2023, that player is in the Major Division.  If a player will be 10 on August 1, 2023, the player is a Junior.

SENIOR DIVISION RULE

Exception: Senior division players must be 14 or under as of August 1, 2023. However, a player that has turned 15 before August 1, 2023, but is still in the 8th grade is eligible in the Senior Division.

What is Little Dribblers' Basketball?

  • Little Dribblers' Basketball, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated organizing community youth basketball leagues.
  • Little Dribblers' was founded in 1969 by four dads with a desire to build a youth basketball program that was open to all boys and girls in the community with a desire to learn how to play basketball.

What is the benefit of a community league?

  • The guiding principle behind Little Dribblers is player development.  The community league welcomes all players regardless of their current skill level.  The local league teaches players the fundamentals of basketball and allows players to develop their skills in a safe, fun learning environment.
  • In addition to  basketball skills, players gain important life skills such as responsibility, respect to others, teamwork and sportsmanship.

All-Star Tournaments

  • When local community leagues completes their season, leagues can select an All-Star Team for the Junior Division (10 and under), Major Division (12 and under) and Senior Division (14 and under) teams.  The All-Star Teams can compete in a Regional Tournament.  The top two teams from each age division can then advance to the National Tournament.
  • Competing in a Little Dribblers' Basketball, Inc. National Tournament allows teams to compete against teams from all over the State of Texas.
